Walk #10
Sunday, January 12, 2014
Bowring Park

Despite the high winds and driving rain and cold
I decided to take a short hike around Bowring Park.
Even though it was the middle of the day and a Sunday
I was the only one there.

At the recently renovated playground I had a
grand memory. When I was a kid the best thing
to play with at Bowring Park on a cold January afternoon
as a large, elbow, concrete water pipe.
Apparently when they upgraded the park this
relic from my childhood disappeared.
The trees which once surrounded it remain.

  1. Hi Ellen:Thanks for the reminder. Please continue to remind us so we check out your walks. It is a valiant set - recording as we know challenges to your courage and persistence.although they do not show in the pics. I really like the row of trees in Walk 6. Perhaps it was the only sunny day. Are you aiming for Black and white? Or was that what the day's weather delivered?
I have been reading about battling Seasonal affective disorder. The formula seems to be sunshine, activity, negative ions (places where water is rushing about like waterfalls, seashore, the shower), vitamin D, and eating lots of fish. So, to keep it at bay, I have walked the last 2 days, where these elements presented themselves - well some of them. Yesterday it was middle cove, but the ice kept me from the beach. Hopefully the neg. ions spread a little inland. Today it was on the road up behind the Fluvarium where there is a rushing stream. Unlike you I stayed in when it was cold and came out as it warmed up. xxJ
